Robert Lubin
Managing Partner

Robert Lubin was one of the earliest developers of EB-5 projects with his first project closed in 1992. The EB-5 program was created by Congress in 1990 as a way to give job-creating projects in primarily blighted areas access to much-needed capital. Foreign investors are rewarded with a Green Card in exchange for making a $500,000 investment into a U.S.-based business venture. Investments are pooled together and the project must create at least ten new jobs per investor; projects best-suited for this type of funding involve the construction or renovation of senior living facilities, mid-tiered hotels and resorts, and some residential properties. Mr. Lubin has led developments across the country by bringing together solid projects, foreign investors’ capital, and traditional financing sources. These projects include the Geneva Ridge and Lake Lawn Resorts in Walworth County, Wisconsin and the Magnolia Bluffs Casino in Natchez, Mississippi as well as more than a dozen other hotels, resorts, hospitals, or senior living developments that are either now-operational or the subject of ongoing construction.

In 1988, Mr. Lubin founded Robert Lubin & Associates, P.C., which has now become American Investor Immigration Law PLLC or AII Law. The firm focuses on providing immigration services to high net worth and high-skilled clients.  The firm serves primarily foreign investors, doctors, and business executives, while also working on behalf of a handful of multi-national companies.  In the early days of the firm, Mr. Lubin led the way to simplified and fair billing structures, with fixed fees based on successful outcomes, rather than hours worked. As an EB-5 attorney, Mr. Lubin has filed I-526 petitions on behalf of more than 400 investors and I-829 petitions on behalf of slightly fewer (because many clients are not yet eligible) with a strong track record of success. He has also secured the approval and expansion of a handful of EB-5 regional centers.

Robert Lubin grew up in Montreal, speaking English and French, and earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Finance) with Distinction at McGill University in 1979. He attended law school at the University of Miami in Florida, where he earned his J.D. (1982) and LL.M., Masters of Law in Taxation (1983). Robert is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), has served on the liaison committee of the Physician Immigration Task Force, and is admitted to practice law in Arizona (1983), the District of Columbia (1988), and Virginia (1994). He travels regularly on behalf of the EB-5 businesses and he has appeared as a guest speaker at law seminars in the United States and throughout the world, including Canada, China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, India, the Philippines and Russia.
